FIREPROOF Ticket Request from Friday, Nov 14 -- Sunday, Nov 16

We continue to be amazed at the response to FIREPROOF and how God is working in the Greater Raleigh area through this movie.

As of Friday, Oct 31st, 488 firefighters, first responders or their significant other have seen FIREPROOF courtesy of the FIREPROOF Raleigh Team. DID YOU KNOW...nationally, through the end of the fifth week, the movie was still playing in 80 percent of the theaters where it opened on September 26!

Your FIREPROOF Raleigh Team has distributed ALL available tickets for showings in the Raleigh area through Thurs, November 13, 2008.

NOTE: If Regal Theaters agree to continue showing Fireproof beyond Thursday, Nov 13 2008, we will make date night available for another weekend starting Friday, Nov 13th through Sunday November 16th.

Because of the enormous response, and area we are covering, we are MAILING ALL requests for tickets via USPS. You must provide the information below by 10am Wednesday, Nov 12th to ensure your tickets arrive at your home before Friday, Nov 14th.

Vision Update - FIREPROOF Raleigh

Day 13 - We delivered Date Night packets to 125 firefighters that signed up this weekend through Fireproof Raleigh. That's 22% of our 560 firefighters! What a testimony of what God can do through a community when it is determined to express its support and appreciation for those that put their life on the line every day. Can you believe signups did not start until Friday, Sept 19th? Because of your generous support Fireproof Raleigh was able to purchase 250 movie tickets yesterday and deliver them today. Chick-fil-A of Triangle Town Center gave away 250 combo meals, and a post-movie dessert!

More work is to be done. Requests, donations, and words of encouragement are pouring in from all over! As a result, we will be continuing our efforts another week so the firefighters who could not attend this weekend will have an opportunity to participate. Pray the local theaters will keep this movie playing at least another week so we can continue to express our gratitude to the men and women of the Raleigh Fire Department.

Our Vision

FIREPROOF is an action-packed love story from the creators of Facing the Giants that opens September 26 in theaters across the country. It is about a typical couple, Caleb and Catherine Holt, who have allowed the temptations of this world to creep in and choke their marriage. Ironically, Caleb, a firemen, is willing to risk his life to save complete strangers from a burning building, yet he is not willing to rescue his marriage and his wife.

FIREPROOF
Action Squads allow churches, businesses, groups, and individuals the opportunity to support FIREPROOF and impact marriages in their communities on Opening Weekend ... and beyond. Much like getting a group together to buy tickets for a play or a sporting event, an Action Squad is a group of people working together to purchase tickets for Opening Weekend: September 26-28. A FIREPROOF Action Squad can help the people of your community see clearly how they can honor God with their marriages. While it is a big commitment, it is well worth the effort.

For the past few weeks, we have been brainstorming with our wives, Hannah and Heather, and Rally's marketing director at Chick-fil-A, Johnie Groh and her husband, Mike, about how to share the power of this movie with every firefighter that serves our community. To be honest, we were hoping to partner with an existing Action Squad, yet God had His Plan. His plan was FIREPROOF RALEIGH. Over the course of the past several days God has opened many doors. When we called for help, help arrived, "johnny on the spot"...just like a fireman, just like our God. (Jeremiah 29:11)

FIREPROOF RALEIGH's
vision is to provide every Raleigh City firefighter two free tickets to see FIREPROOF, dinner, courtesy of Chick-fil-A at Triangle Town Center, and a "DO NOT OPEN until after the movie" envelope with guidance on how to respond to the powerful message presented in this movie.

How can you get involved? A pair of movie tickets costs only $15.00. There are 28 fire stations in Raleigh which have an average of 20 firefighters per station. Thus, our goal is to provide 560 pairs of tickets at a cost of $8,400. As of 3pm, Friday, 9/19, about 72 hours into our plan, we had already raised 25% of our need. As of Saturday, 9/20, we are almost 60% funded. At this rate, we may be able to extend this gift to other "first-responders" in the City of Raleigh.

We are making contributing as easy as possible and tax deductible by partnering with Called 2 Action, a local 501(c) (3). If you are interested in contributing you can do so via check or credit card.

You can contribute by check made payable to:
